Welcome to Bearsted & Thurnham

Bearsted and Thurnham tennis club is situated about 3 miles
east of Maidstone and offers excellent facilities for all standards
and ages.

There are 5 floodlit all weather courts, clubhouse with bar, changing rooms and showers.

We currently have over 500 members, many of which are families, and a superb reputation for being a very social and friendly club, while still maintaining an exceptional standard of tennis.

CLUB MAINTENANCE DAYS

Starting at 9.00am. New volunteers are especially welcome. Lunch and refreshments provided for volunteers.

FIXTURES SECRETARY WANTED

As I have said on numerous occasions, including at the last AGM, we have been very fortunate that Neil Buscombe and Kim Martin have continued to do the fixtures secretary’s duties for which we must thank them both.

Neil Buscombe has confirmed he is willing to remain as fixtures secretary directly responsible for the organization of the Kent & East Kent matches and for overseeing the fixtures in general.

Kim Martin who has been responsible for the organization of the M&D matches confirmed he needed to relinquish this role once the M&D fixtures were made for the winter 2009/2010 season. If you are able and willing to take over Kim’s role and support Neil as our fixtures secretary please let me know as soon as possible Should you need any further information regarding this supporting role please feel free to speak to Neil and/or Kim. Your club needs you!

LOOK OUT FOR...

THE WIMBLEDON TICKET DRAW

The club Members' draw for Wimbledon tickets will be held at the club at 1.00pm on Sunday 16 May.

Only British Tennis members (including Juniors) are eligible. Tickets are drawn in pairs and the winner must be one of the pair going to Wimbledon. You do not have to be present for the draw, but those present will have the opportunity at the time to select which tickets to take, from the ones remaining. Further details and draw entry forms will be emailed to members in April.
